Daniel Raminfard (b. 1978, Tehran) is an Iranian-American painter known for his mastery of light, shape, and color. He began drawing and painting at an early age as a means of dealing with family tragedies. Upon moving to the U.S., he studied for many years under renowned Iranian artist Hooshang Peyman. Raminfard’s compositions are most influenced by his Persian heritage and the early 20th century Russian Realism movement. He has said his work aims to create a sense of peace and joy but also “love[s] decay, geometric shapes and complimentary colors.”
His portraits, landscapes and still life series have found homes in private collections across the world from Israel to Hong Kong. He has had paintings featured in print, TV and film, and won multiple awards, most notably from the Portrait Society of America. He works exclusively in oils and acrylic paint. In addition to creating new works, Raminfard values giving back. He has personally instructed hundreds of students across the U.S. in both drawing and painting. His studio is a champion of arts education in Los Angeles county. To honor the two brothers he lost, a portion of the proceeds from all Raminfard art sales go to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
